CrOw GodDesS

Standing on the platform
Before the "rush-hour" began
Talking about nothing in particular
Or to be precise, about Soha Ali Khan...
A crow zipped past,
Brushed her cheek...almost
He was startled. She shrugged it off.
Its not the first time and neither is it the last.
He seemed a bit droll
As he said more, about
These harbingers of death
And their darker rigmarole!
She listened as he went on
about Goddess Dhumavati
the unmoveable unmoved eternal widow
He said, they say resembles a crow.
The Goddess of unsatisfied desires, The Shakti
(Without her Shiva) written about in books
So what about her she asked, He said
You must see how she looks!
How does she look?
Thin, tall and gaunt.
What does she do?
While he ran to catch the train
he turned and said...
She looks like you!

The object of our speculations and premises are so clueless about them all arent they? i wonder if that crow knew she would be blogged about...

Should the crow be "it"?

I thought that in this case, I (most unexpectedly and certainly not too pleasantly) was the object of speculation more than the "it" crow.

It is interesting an incident, if I choose to leave it at that. Which I know I wont :)

welll.. since you bought about the topic of spirituality and the unknown, there is an urban legend in the world (which I may add India does not recognise) that the CROW allows for peoples souls to rest while the body avenges its death before the soul can rest. This is only if there is angst.

What actually some tribes in Native America blieve is that the Crow brings back the dead because of unfinished business, and so they try and fulfil every possible need of the person who dies last, in order to be saved from humiliation at the hands of a restless soul..

Personally, I always believe this and I have been believing this for a while now, that I will return in the shadow of a crow in order to avenge the wrong doings against me.. however petty they may be for others, but they mean the world to me...

I also feel that you need to understand that unless the crow hurt you in anyway, or came back or is circling you, then you are in fear of being in the wrong.. else rest easy...

Not only the crow but other animals also have certain symbolic values to them.. you should google it!!

Very nice... feels like a poem you lifted from a lit book... which prolly contained works by indian authors...

Super! The climax is super. Poetic, and extremely romantic! One of those moments in cinema, which live on forever because of their charm - Raj Kapoor / Nargis under one umbrella! Something like that!

Super!

Partha, I know about the custom where after a person's last rites, food is offered to the crow...if the crow eats it, the person died a satisfied person. If crows do not touch it, the person obviously had a desire that remained unfulfilled. I have also heard crows are our dead ancestors! I have never been circled by or hurt by a crow. But the brushing against me has happened innumerable times. Mostly its the head or face they fly past! Thank you for sharing what you did :)
